National Geographic
At its best, geography as a subject inspires an understanding of a 'sense of place' and fascination about the world. The National Geographic web site, with its high production values, is a good place for pupils to begin to explore the natural and cultural diversity of the world.

Population pyramids
This website, provided by the US Census office, allows you to explore population data for any country in the world.

Tourism Concern
Tourism Concern is an organisation that seeks to raise awareness of the impact that tourism has on the communities and environments of places which experience modern tourism. It publishes a range of educational resources and a useful magazine, In Focus, which explores these issues.

Developments
Developments is a free quarterly magazine produced by the Department for International Development. It provides coverage of development issues and focuses on how British development assistance works in developing countries. A useful resource in helping g&t pupils develop their understanding of ethical issues.

United Nations Population Information Network
This site provides a wealth of data on population trends. Much of the information is available in table format and is supplemented with written text.

Department for International Development (DFID)
This is the British government department responsible for promoting development and the reduction of poverty. It provides a wide range of publications and reports that can be accessed on-line and in print Useful for allowing g&t pupils to explore global issues.
