The Geopacks Flow Meter offers a more precise and professional approach, making it ideal for school and college field trips, student investigations, and studies in river processes, irrigation, and water resource management. How does it work?
As water flows, it spins a small impeller. These rotations are detected electronically and sent to a handheld counter. By measuring how many turns occur over a set time, students can calculate stream velocity using the provided conversion charts. Each impeller rod has been carefully calibrated in a flume tank to ensure dependable results.

The propeller rod is 107 cm long, with a 1 m cable connecting it to the meter. It operates best within a flow range of 0.5–1.5 m/s - ideal for safe student use - with an accuracy of ±5%.
